The couple celebrated their five year anniversary in January, but some of you may not know that they were actually friends for years prior to dating! John and Nikki met through mutual friends (John's high school friends were Nikki's college friends) and quickly became friends themselves.

After a few years of friendship, John will tell you "he did the impossible and got out of the friend-zone" because an undeniable spark developed between them. For Nikki, it was when John went out of his way to offer her a ride from Hackettstown for a trip to NYC. For John, it was when the pair held hands walking through a crowd at a nightclub on NYE.

With a little pressure from Nikki's best friend Sam, they finally admitted they had crushes on one another. After a perfect first date at Don Jose (getting serenaded by a Mariachi band and eating burritos), the rest was history.

These days, the couple loves to spend their time hiking with their dog Olive, attending comedy shows/rap concerts, playing boardgames & ping pong, going to Yankees/Jets games, bowling, and watching Jeopardy!.

They know they are soulmates because they have the same vision on what life will look like at 80 years old; the two of them on a porch playing backgammon, laughing at each other's jokes.
